Simple Fitness with a Hint of Martial Arts

Martial Arts Training will give you an all-over body workout.

We add a few simple exercises to the end of our training sessions to ensure we are getting that workout. All the exercises are very simple and require no special equipment and can be performed by virtually anyone.

Our Fitness training sessions vary each and every time, this keeps the body guessing and stops boredom setting in. Sessions will involve body resistance exercise and cardio through very basic Martial Arts Techniques.

The Ankle Knee Take-Down

The ankle knee take-down is one of the most simple take-downs that can be applied. This technique needs to be applied correctly to be effective.

There are some elements to this technique that make it even more effective, such as distracting strikes to engage the mind of your opponent.

Side Hip Throw

The Side Hip Throw is a slight variation on a hip throw and has the advantage that you are not turning your back on your opponent. The Side Hip Throw can be a little more difficult to get to grips with but is a very practical and effective throw.

Jiu Jitsu Hip Throw

The Hip Throw is one of the base techniques from which so many other throws and take-downs have been developed. Get to grips with the Hip Throw and really understand what makes this throw effective and you will find the other throws so much easier.

The Hip Throw is made much more effective when you can take advantage of your opponents Momentum.

Jiu Jitsu Hold Downs

There are several elements involved in a Jiu Jitsu Technique. Many Techniques involve the use of Hold Downs. There are many Hold Downs available using different parts of your body and targeting different parts of your opponents body.

Hold downs can also be called submissions or joint Locks. The one shown below uses the leg to restrain the shoulder. You can see that it would not take much more of an effort to continue the technique and cause a joint dislocation.
